I was incredibly impressed with the professionalism that Ken showed throughout the process. Ken and his team are the greatest. He is responsive, thoughtful, thorough and treated my family as his own. We refinished and installed roughly 2400 square feet of hardwood flooring and 600 square feet of vinyl in our basement. Ken communicated his plan prior to starting the job and gave us a competitive and fair quote. He worked around both ours and our contractors schedule and ensured the floors were ready for our move in date. Made the mistake of taking on a laminated plank flooring project at the house with a friend without prior experience. A minor initial install mistake eventually worsened with time in a high traffic area. The floor buckled in one area and eventually separated. I called Vy (Ken) and he came over right away and had a crew over two days later to make a fix that didn’t involve tearing up most of the flooring or even popping off baseboards… floor is flat. The small gap that was properly filled (only we know where it is) will serve as a soft reminder to call AJ’s and have it done right the first time!

Needed new floors installed but didn’t know where to begin. Looked up reviews for several companies. Landed on AJ Floor Service. I read his reviews and then crossed my fingers. The estimate that he gave was more than fair.
Both Vy (owner) and his crew were punctual, communicative, professional and honest. Installing maple floors in a 200 year old house with shifted floors isn’t child’s-play. It’s hard work. The end result reveals a man that knows his craft well. The floors are absolutely stunning.
Will definitely use his services again.

I recently had a water line break to my refrigerator and 60 square feet of hardwood flooring was destroyed. I called AJ Floor Service and met with Ken that morning. He assed the damage and gave me a quote on the spot. A day and one half later the entire floor was replaced and matched the old floor perfectly. I am very pleased with the price, quality and service. I selected AJ Flooring by using its reviews and ratings; I was contacted immediately after requesting a quote on-line and was visited the next day. I wanted my stair treads and risers refinished. No one I contacted previously would do the risers. The work was performed on my schedule and was of the highest quality. He is friendly, responsive, and he left the work area clean. You would never know any sanding was done. I would highly recommend using Ken and AJ Flooring for any flooring job.

I had used AJ Floor Service 2 years ago to Install and Completely Replace Wood Flooring in a bedroom. The work was excellent!!! I now rehired again for another larger project of Refinishing Wood Flooring, Painting in 2 bedrooms and Replacing a ceiling in one bedroom.
Both bedrooms were in bad shape with floors stained, walls cracked and damaged, and 1 ceiling cracked and damaged. I asked if he could put together the project and find the people through his contacts to do the work that he could not. He responded to my call fast and the work started in 2 days with the wall and ceiling people doing repairs. Everything went smoothly, All work done was outstanding.
I am very happy with the outcome. I will absolutely rehire for any future work.

From start to finish Ken is the most professional contractor I have dealt with yet. I hired him to do a set of stairs that had been covered in carpet for 40 years and where full of nail and staple holes and to install hardwood on a landing. I could not have asked for a better result. He took the time to do the work right. I would recommend him to anyone looking for hardwood flooring install or refinishing. In addition to doing a great job his communication regarding the job was outstanding. I called him for a quote he was there the next day. Even texted to confirm in the morning and called when in route. Quote was in my inbox the following day. From the quote on through the end of the job it continued this way. Quick responses to phone calls and text to answer questions and provide updates. This is what we have grown to expect these days as we all have our phones in our hands more often than not. Can't say enough about how pleased I am with how my hallway stairs and floor came out. My wood floor had an old built up of linoleum glue on it. The stairs were in bad shape. Could not find any contractor who wanted to tackle the job.
I was told to just buy new flooring to cover the old wood flooring up, and re-paint the stairs. I knew that the floors and stairs could be saved with the right contractor. Ken knew how to tackle my floor and stairs.
I highly recommend AJ Floor Service, not only did they do an excellent job, but they were reasonably priced and truly awesome people to work with.

Hired AJ Floor Service to sand, stain and polyurethane the first floor of my house and stairs leading to the second floor. Ken and his crew did a great job and answered my questions all the time via phone or text. The job came out great and on time and I would highly recommend them to anyone for a high quality and fair price wood flooring service. Please be sure what kind of stain you want to use and know that the process takes time to come together, each coat of polyurthane improves the look and softens the finish of the stain. We used Bona Woodline satin finish on my floors. Overall really happy with the outcome, thanks AJ floor service!

Ken and Bill did a great job refinishing all of my 1st floor hardwood floors and the stair treads to 2nd floor. Came right out to give an estimate and were able to complete the job the next week.
They were efficient, thorough, and very neat (very little dust!). And they were very kind in helping me move some heavy furniture that I could not mange myself.

The process was great, from the quote through the work. The 108-year-old kitchen floor had been covered by 7 layers of tile, linoleum, vinyl and other junk that we stripped down to the original hardwood. Unfortunately, that hardwood had glue, nail holes and looked awful. Vy and his crew did excellent work, quickly and efficiently.

From start to finish Ken was AMAZING! I closed on my first home on Thursday morning, by 1 pm Ken had consulted and agreed to start work on Saturday. He was super nice, giving me text updates (I work 24 hour shifts). He and his team were punctual and professional. I literally feel like he made my first house a home. His pricing was competitive, and practical. I would absolutely recommend him to everyone I know. To give some perspective, my parents live in a home just outside of the city (4x as large); and they paid 4x as much to have have a master/hallway refinished. My Dad, whom spent more time with the team, was super complimentary and very jealous by Monday night.

The turn around response was within five minutes, Ken came to our home that day and gave us a reasonable quote for a very worn and tired floor. The appt. was set, with a prompt arrival. The team worked efficiently, even added a layer of plastic over the doorway so our family was able to sleep upstairs, with a fan on, without the heavy odors bothering us. The second day the finish coat was applied and three days later, the room is just beautiful. The product used is of very good properties. The team are quiet and very respectful.
